When two of my closest friends asked for my help with the design (rustic Montana barn) of their wedding, I, of course, jumped at the chance! What started out with invitations grew into having a part of nearly all aspects of the event. From the invitations, to table settings, bouquet making, flower buying, programs, arranging chairs and even logistics with vendors – it was exhausting, but thrilling and beautiful at the same time. It was so rewarding to see everything come together and to see people enjoying everything we’d planned.
It was fun to be able to use the same creativity and visual eye that I normally use for graphic design and apply it to so many other things.
I’ll be posting a series of photos from the wedding, detailing the small and large design details that I worked on.
Flowers!
One of my favorite parts was that I got to go to a flower warehouse and pick out all of the flowers for the wedding! A little bit of a gamble, since we didn’t order anything and had to go with what they had in stock.
Shaine (the bride) with the flowers I picked out!
$500 worth of flowers! (Probably the best shopping spree I’ve ever been on.)
I’ve always loved flowers, but this was my first ‘real’ bouquet. I picked my favorite bunches from the haul, set them all out on the hotel bed, and put the bouquet together stem by stem.
The best moment was when Shaine saw it for the first time and teared up!
It would not have been possible without the bride, Shaine, who was able to coordinate, organize and make all technical arrangements. It would not have been possible without the team of friends and family who pitched in and helped. One thing that was so special about this wedding is that with the exception of the caterers, bartenders, and the venue, everything was done by friends and family of Shaine & Chris. Absolutely amazing.
